David T. Craig II (Tad) has been around real estate all of his life. David Craig & Auburn Wheeler started the company the year after Tad was born, in 1973. Growing up at closings, auctions and in a real estate office everyday he had no choice but to learn the business by osmosis. Tad went to the University of Tennessee in Knoxville in the fall of 1990. Tad has grown up at basketball camps and UT football games in Knoxville just about every year in his life. While at UT, Tad was a Student Orientation Assistant teaching incoming freshman (all 6,000 of them) and their 12,000 parents everything there is to know about The University of Tennessee. Tad also was a senator in the Student Government Association (SGA) and president of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity.

Tad received his real estate license just after his graduation from college and moved straight to Raleigh, North Carolina where he lived for almost 5 years. While in Raleigh, Tad was a new homes sales agent for many custom and production builders. Tad worked hand-in-hand with land developers choosing target markets and neighborhood layouts and amenities. Tad worked with a new home sales division for 3 years with Howard, Perry and Walston. After 3 years, Centex Homes, the nation’s largest single family home builder, made Tad an offer he couldn’t refuse. Centex built over 1500 homes a year by the time Tad left the Raleigh-Durham market. Tad was named the salesman of the month by the Sales and Marketing Council for Raleigh-Durham & Chapel Hill area 6 times in 1998 and 1999. Then, he decided it was time to move home to the family business.

Tad is a past-President of the Middle Tennessee Association of Realtors. Tad obtained his general contractor’s license and is also a licensed auctioneer. Tad is the father of 2 children, Mackenzie and Stone. Tad loves to hunt any time he has a chance (with a gun or bow), fly-fish, mountain bike, scuba dive and snow ski. He is into anything that gets his heart pumping and that is how he approaches real estate, 110% and full speed ahead….
